1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operating independently of government. It does not keep official criminal records and cannot retrieve a file, conduct an official check, or submit documents for a visitor.

The material identifies official custodians of Taylor County records, including Sheriff Data Records, the Clerk of Circuit Court, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau, and the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on an agreement not to:

• Run bots, scrapers, or other automated processes against the pages
• Interfere with site performance or prevent access by other visitors

Taylor County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create credit reports, background checks, or other consumer reports. Its advertising partners likewise do not provide tools here for applicant screening, rental review, insurance rating, or credit judgments. Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

• Assess eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
• Evaluate a renter, housing applicant, or tenancy
• Make a hiring, retention, or termination decision
• Set insurance terms or judge a person's creditworthiness
• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A check needed for an FCRA-governed purpose must be obtained through an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider or the authorized official process, not through this site.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is general information, not legal advice. It may describe Taylor County record procedures, but it cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or Wisconsin expungement rule applies in a specific matter. Seek advice from a licensed Wisconsin attorney.

Stat. §§ 19.31-19.39, applies to public authorities rather than this private site, while Wis. Stat. § 165.83 governs Wisconsin DOJ criminal-identification reporting and dissemination.
